| USAC rules limit Category 5 Beginner fields to 50 riders on the course at one time. Our schedule does not allow for an A & B event in the criterium. Pre-registered riders will have preference. Race day registrants will be accepted in the order registrations are received. | ||||||
*These events are open to the public. Unlicensed riders must purchase a one-day USCF license for $10.00 at registration. One-day licensees are only permitted to race in the Category 5 Beginner's event, the Category 4 Women's event or Masters events. Download a form HERE. Jerseys must have at least short sleeves that extend over shoulders. |
| STATE CHAMPIONSHIP ELIGIBILITY: All riders are eligible to compete for the prizes listed above. In addition, you may compete for Illinois State Championship awards and jerseys. To qualify for Illinois State Championship awards you must (1) hold an annual license which you can purchase on race day, (2) be a resident of Illinois and your license must show an Illinois address, (3) you must be a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S., (4) juniors are only eligible for championships in the junior age group stated on their license, (5) Masters-aged riders are eligible for championships in any masters or elite race for which their racing age is the one given or older, and (6) masters-aged riders shall specify the medal for which they are competing (30+ or 40+, etc.). | ||||||
DIRECTIONS TO CRITERIUM COURSE: Eastbound on I-74, take the Downtown Peoria exit and continue on Fayette to Madison or Jefferson and turn right to the course. Westbound on I-74, take the Adams/Jefferson Street exit and turn left on Jefferson or Madison to the course. The start/finish is on Jefferson at Fulton (419 Fulton, Peoria, Illinois, 61602). |
THE CRITERIUM COURSE: Located in downtown Peoria, this fast,1.0 mile hourglass course has wide corners, two left turns and six right turns. The course is the same as last year with the exception of some new paving on Hamilton. The free lap rule will be in effect and the wheel pit is on a wheels in, wheels out basis. There will be primes for all races, excluding beginners and juniors events. |
| NEUTRAL SUPPORT: SRAM will provide neutral support for the criterium. SRAM will also operate the wheel pit for the criterium. | ||||||
REGISTRATION: Online registration closes at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, June 24th. The fees listed above are for preregistration only and do not include any online registration fees. Mail and online entries must be received by Wednesday, June 24th to avoid a $5.00 late entry fee. This fees does not apply to the Juniors, Cat 5 Beginners or Cat 4 Women's Beginners events or a second race that you register for on race day. The fee for a second race is $10.00. We reserve the right to adjust the length, places and prizes in any event based on rider participation. Fields are limited to the maximum number of riders allowed under USAC rules. Riders may be staged in the order in which registration was received. If you are not registering online, you must submit a legible standard release form and entry fee to pre-register. Race day registration opens at 7:00 AM and will close 20 minutes before each event.
