Volunteer Instructions

1. Check in at the volunteer table at least 15 min. before your shift.

2. Bring water, a chair and rain gear. The race is run rain or shine.

3. Stop spectators or vehicles from crossing the course if riders are coming.

4. Assist riders involved in a crash.

Do not attempt to move an injured rider that cannot move him/herself. Call the ambulance immediately.

Protect a rider who is down from the vehicles on the course, other participants and/or the pace car(s).

Call for the ambulance or first aid using the cell phone or radio assigned to your post or send someone to the nearest corner where there is a cell phone or radio assigned.

If a rider can move, assist them to a safe place and call first aid if needed.

Clear the course of bicycles or other debris.

5. The criterium course will be closed to traffic. Watch for cars coming out of parking decks that may enter the course. After the riders have passed, direct them to go to the nearest intersection to exit the course.
